Ashleigh Lobo is a member of the Class of 2026, majoring in Marketing and American Studies. Originally from Texas, Ashleigh found herself thousands of miles away from home. The ugly couch in her dorm reminded Ashleigh of her early struggles with the transition to college. Reflecting on those first few weeks, she recalled how the experience was initially daunting and filled with homesickness. The couch next to her dorm room, which she had dubbed "The Cry Corner," is where she spent the first few nights of college crying. However, Ashleigh eventually overcomes her homesickness and finds happiness in realizing that Notre Dame is where she was meant to be. For Ashleigh, "The Cry Corner" now evokes fond memories instead of tears.
